The Lemon Law Protects You and Your Family : Lemon law review 2008
by Barry Edzant
If you think you have a lemon, then you probably do. Thankfully, you also have rights. The Lemon Law, technically entitled the "Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act," protects residents of California from defective vehicles and allows Californians to take legal action against the manufacturers. The Lemon Law is fairly straightforward and easy to understand. The manufacturer must either replace the vehicle or reimburse you an amount equal to the purchase price, if the manufacturer cannot repair your vehicle after a "reasonable" number of attempts.A "reasonable" number of attempts is defined as the manufacturer being unable to repair the same defect after four tries. If the defect is "life-threatening or likely to cause serious bodily injury," however, you are only required to have two repair attempts. Additionally, if the vehicle was inoperable for a cumulative total of thirty days, so long as the repairs are attempted within the manufacturer's warranty period, this would be considered "reasonable" under the Lemon Law.The manufacturer must pay for license fees, rental expenses, towing, and out of pocket repairs in addition to replacing the vehicle or reimbursing the vehicle purchase price. Attorney's fees and other losses may be paid. But beware - there are conditions. The use, value, or safety of the vehicle must be affected by the defects, and the vehicle must still be under the original manufacturer's warranty. For example, under the Lemon Law, a constantly broken cup holder would not qualify.Different laws also apply to off-road vehicles like motorcycles, motor homes, and other such vehicles. The manufacturer is additionally entitled to take a deduction for mileage accrued on the vehicle prior to the defects occurring, and other restrictions can be applied. The ability to rid yourself of your lemon and regain most, if not all, of the cost of buying the vehicle (including loan or lease expenses incurred post-purchase) are advantages for you. You could also get back a good portion of other losses resulting from the malfunctioning vehicle. This proves that the Lemon Law truly is a law designed to protect the consumer.
Used Vehicles in PA - Is it a Lemon? : Lemon law Ohio review
Used Vehicles in PA - Is it a Lemon? : Lemon law Ohio review
by Greg Artim
I receive several phone calls at my law office each day inquiring about the Pennsylvania Lemon Law and Used Vehicles. I begin by telling each prospective client that the PA Lemon Law does not cover used vehicles at this time.Fortunately, that doesn’t mean that you don’t have a case. If you have purchased a “used†vehicle that still had some of the original manufacturer’s warranty on it at the time of it’s purchase, and a defect arose while under that warranty, you may be able to bring a Lemon Law type claim. There is a federal law called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act that covers used cars that have a written warranty on them. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers who purchase any product that costs over $25 and comes with a written warranty, so a used car would be covered by this law.The benefits of this law are many. Like the PA Lemon Law, the Magnuson Moss Act provides for a full refund or free replacement of the defective product if it cannot be repaired properly after a reasonable number of attempts. Typically, the number of repair attempts must be three times for the same defect. The Act further provides for recovery of all associated costs of the claim including recovery of reasonable Attorney fees. The Magnuson-Moss Act is an act that was designed to ensure that manufacturers (of any product) who offer a written warranty on that product abide by and honor the terms of any warranty that they give. A purchaser of a used motor vehicle is a prime candidate to use this law in the event that he purchases a used “lemonâ€, because the original manufacturer’s warranty transfers to all subsequent owners of the vehicle until it expires based upon mileage or a given length of time. In practice, Lemon Law Attorneys have used this Act very successfully in Pennsylvania to protect purchasers of defective “used†motor vehicles. If your used vehicle has suffered a defect while still under the original manufacturer’s warranty, you may be entitled to a full refund or free replacement utilizing this law.Another law that may assist purchasers of Used Vehicles in PA is the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. This law was designed to help consumers who have not received “what they paid forâ€. Our office uses this law quite frequently to pursue used vehicle claims where the consumer purchases a vehicle from a dealer, the vehicle suffers major problems shortly after purchase, and the dealer fails to remedy the situation. The great thing about the Unfair Trade Practices Act is that it also provides for recovery of reasonable attorney fees.Either of the above laws provide great protections to individuals who have purchased defective used vehicles in Pennsylvania.

5 ways to remove unwanted hair : remove unwanted hair review
by Cindy Heller
There are several methods of hair removal. The important methods are1. Laser hair removal treatment.2. Electrolysis procedure3. Hair removal wax4. Hair removal cream and5. Natural hair removalThere are many advantages and disadvantages in every method.Permanent safe method of hair removal:The fame of laser hair removal is increasing day by day. Laser hair removal is carried out by concentrating lasers on the skin. Laser is attracted to the color of the hair's follicle causing it to get heated and burns away the roots of the hair. If the hair is of dark color, the result will be similarly better, whereas the light color skin makes the laser get focused on the skin and thus affect the skin by causing sore. On the other hand new progress in laser technology eliminates this disadvantage. However for best results there must be comparatively a bit of difference between the color of the hair and that of the skin.Advantages and Disadvantages of laser hair removal:The greatest advantage in using laser hair removal is that you can remove hair from different parts of the body, except the areas near the eyes. Another advantage in using laser hair removal is that there are no genuine side effects, except having redness in addition to inflammation that do not remain for more than one or two days. On the other hand, you would need more than one laser hair removal treatment to remove all the unwanted hair.Hair removal wax, the inexpensive and popular method:Hair removal wax is the inexpensive and popular method to remove unwanted hair from the armpits, face, bikini, legs, and other parts of the body. The hairs will take three to eight weeks to grow after the treatment.Pros and Cons of WaxingIt is not a long process, so it is easy to use this method. After the hair removal wax was applied to the region of the skin, a narrow piece of cloth is put on it and it is pulled off rapidly. All the unwanted hairs were pulled off from its roots and as well as the dead skin cells are also removed. As a result, the skin appears to be smoother and softer. One more advantage that you could get from using hair removal wax is that the re-growth of the unwanted hairs appears to be lighter in color and thinner.Who should not use hair removal wax method?Diabetes patients should avoid the use of hair removal wax. This is because they are more prone to infections as compared to other people. Also, people who have acne and use tretinoin and isotretinoin should also avoid waxing. The Benefits and Drawbacks of Hair Removal Cream:When you use hair removal cream, the stubble appears the next day itself. It is the easy method to get rid of the unwanted hair. The regular use of the hair removal cream makes the hair to grow less quickly and it makes the hair thinner. The disadvantages include that use of the hair removal cream is messy. The odor of the cream is not pleasant.Natural Hair Removal:The benefit of natural hair removal is that it is 100% natural and it does not have any side effects for anyone. This is because it does not contain any chemicals that are used in the waxes or creams. The natural antiseptics such as chamomile, tea tree, and lemon are used in this method which makes the skin healthier and smoother. The supreme benefit of the natural hair removal method is that if the hair removed by this method it takes more time for hair to grow in that area.Threading Hair RemovalThreading is the popular method for removing facial hairs. Threading removes unwanted facial hairs with the use of thin, warped, pure cotton threads that are being turn round over the face area like the forehead for disorderly hairlines, moustache, eyebrows, and upper lips. The risk of threadingThough this method is less painful it is time consuming. It also has side effects such as bacterial infection which affects the hair follicle, redness on the skin and inflammation. It also causes color change on the skin.Electrolysis, Comfortable, Safe and Permanent method:Electrolysis hair removal is a permanent procedure. Electrolysis hair removal generally needs a talented and trained expert who has knowledge in performing the procedure. Home electrolysis hair removal kits are also available. It does not cause any pain, it only makes tingling feeling. It is the safe method to remove hair even from the more sensitive parts of the body. In Electrolysis method each hair is removed, so it takes considerable amount of time to remove all the hair.

635 Toledo Jeep Workers Accept Buyouts : Jeep new car 2008 art story
by Anthony Fontanelle
At least 635 workers at Toledo Jeep Assembly have accepted buyout offers from Chrysler LLC. This means no full-time workers will be laid off as the third shift making the Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro ends Monday.
In October, the Auburn Hills automaker said that it plans to get rid of the night shift because of the declining sales of the Liberty and the Nitro. The announcement would result to the slashing of 780 jobs. The anticipated job cuts were part of the 10,000 and other cuts made by the automaker across the nation.
But with the workers' acceptance of the buyouts and with the furlough of about 100 temporary workers, 45 or so workers will be retained to fill in for other employees on sick leave or vacation, said Dan Henneman, Jeep's United Auto Workers Local 12 official.
The number taking buyouts means that "we don't anticipate anyone being laid off," Henneman. "The company was forecasting that only 200 would take the buyout, so this is great for us. Workers who would have been laid off will be trained to take over for those leaving as part of the buyout."
This week, the production lines used to assemble Dodge and Jeep doors and other auto parts for the Nitro and Liberty have been idled as part of the announced shutdown and job cuts last fall. Next week, the scheduled return of workers, training will start to allow those taking the buyouts to leave by the end of this month and March, reported Toledo Blade.
Chrysler is in the process of proving its true worth now that it is going solo. But challenges are testing its courage and commitment. In North America, the sales for the Liberty dived 31 percent in 2007 to 92,105 units, and Nitro sales of 74,825 units were fewer than the company predicted.
Many Jeep workers had postponed plans to retire while waiting for the national UAW contract with Chrysler. The incentives offered have generally provided approximately $70,000 buyout. However, it can increase to $100,000.
"We're one of the older work forces in the business," Henneman noted. "A lot of people were holding out."
This week, Chrysler announced buyout offers to 14,000 workers in the Detroit area. However, the 1,300 workers at Chrysler's Toledo Machining plant in Perrysburg Township have not been offered buyout packages, but will be soon, Chrysler spokesman Michelle Tinson said. She was earlier quoted as saying they had received buyout offers.

Considering Laser Hair Removal For Pubic Hair? : New Hair removal laser review 2008
by Bonnie Jo Davis
For centuries upon centuries, both women and men have sought and utilized numerous methods for reducing and eliminating pubic hair. Waxing, shaving, plucking and depilatories are among those methods that have lasted over the years. Regardless of the removal method used, there was always the trouble with ingrown hairs and stubble. However, today's technological advances provide us with yet another option for those who prefer to walk on the lighter side of the pubic hairline, minus ingrown hairs and irritating stubble.
This currently trendy and en vogue pubic grooming option is laser hair removal, in which an instrument (a laser device) sends a vigorously vibrating beam of light through the skin, directly zapping the hair follicle itself. The hair follicles within the treated area of the skin basically absorb the largest percentage of the emitted beam, which causes them to subsequently die and fall out, although not immediately. Several treatment sessions are generally required to achieve a long-lasting reduction or permanent elimination of pubic hair.
Although the FDA approved laser hair removal as a safe procedure in 1994, the jury is still out with some people regarding certain issues of the process. Pain, while not experienced by all, can certainly be an issue. What is merely a moment of discomfort for some people can be truly agonizing for others, depending upon the variance in individual sensitivity and personal tolerance for pain.
The removal of pubic hair via laser treatment is increasingly popular; however, this process is not the optimum choice for people of all skin tones and hair color. This method of hair removal works best for people who have fair skin and dark pubic hair. The reason? Skin can be seriously damaged if hair follicles are the same color or if skin is dark, simply because darker areas treated naturally absorb more of the beam. Individuals with either blonde or red hair can expect variable outcomes, including disappointment with the results of laser hair removal treatment.
Another downside to this form of hair removal is cost, with prices ranging from several hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars per session. Some individuals have paid thousands of dollars for treatment and are unable to complete the process because of pain or unacceptable results. There are also medical constraints or limitations both prior to and after the procedure. Before opting for this choice, visit the location of the clinic or spa you're considering. Also, verify its reputation and the credentials of the professionals who work there.
If the con side of pubic hair removal via laser weighs heavier on your mind than the pro side, reconsider shaving as an option. Shaving products have improved dramatically in recent years, with safe and affordable products designed especially for pubic hair removal now available.
